This log cabin quilt block is a bit fancier than the traditional log cabin design, as it has triangles and semi-parallelogram shapes. No worries, the instructions provide a very simple method to achieve the shapes.

This "In the Hoop" quilt block includes adding batting as you stitch, so that the block is 100% completed in the hoop and ready to join to other blocks when the stitching is completed. Alternately, you can choose to stitch out several more blocks, join them, then add batting to the whole quilt project, for example, a pillow top, table runner or quilt, as in traditional quilting.
