The Fluffle Patch (you may also see this called a knockdown stitch) is stitched first with no wash-away topper, onto the towel or fabric that has a nap. You will want to match the embroidery thread to the napped fabric as this is not to be noticed. It is not there to enhance the design, but to stop the design from sinking into, and getting lost in, the nap. When you embroider the design, it will sit on top of the Fluffle Patch so, again, you will not need to use a wash-away topper. The design will never disappear into the nap of the fabric, it will stitch beautifully, and your embroidery will always look good after laundering.
