It can take hours to make a small motif, using the traditional tatting with a shuttle, but thank goodness, with an embroidery machine, you can make many motifs lickety split. This free-standing lace (FSL) design is stitched in one color, so stitches out very quickly, with no color changes.

The trees make great inserts for Christmas cards. You're sure to get a delighted "thank you!" from whoever receives one. You can also use as the center of a pillow top, a decoration on an apron bib and pockets or a Christmas stocking, but of course, they make beautiful Christmas tree ornaments, too. Have a Holly Jolly Tatted Christmas. It's the best time of the year…LaLaLa. Enter Burl Ives. There might not be snow, but there can be lots of snow people.

Stitch out one for an ornament or stitch out several sizes to make your own Snow People family. The snow people can be used in other festive ways, too. Stitch or fabric-glue to a throw pillow, stitch on felt, attach as present décor, hang on the Christmas Tree, stitch on aprons...near endless options.

Tatted machine embroidery is so beautiful and fun to stitch out. These snowmen stitch out beautifully, as well. If you've been afraid to try free standing lace, don't be afraid anymore. It's very similar to any other machine embroidery. Just use the correct stabilizer, follow the included directions and stitch away!

There are 3 sizes of snowmen, in two different versions. These are available for separate purchases. 1991A, B and C versions do not have picots around the head. These can be interpreted as "guy" (papa or boy child) snowmen. 1991D, E, and F do have picots around the head, which can be interpreted as "gal" (momma or girl child) snowman. Pick from among the sizes to create your "family" of snow people.
